“The East Revisited”
American Master, Douglas Fryer, is one of the most recognizable and celebrated names in contemporary landscapes. Fryer is bound to leave a transformative legacy for his renowned depictions of the American countryside.
This exhibition showcases the outstanding work from his series “The East Revisited.” In his new series, Fryer’s quiet and ordered form is able to bring beauty and spirit together. Together with his work and the newly remodeled center room, one will feel a soothing tranquility that radiates from his paintings.
Born in 1963, Douglas Fryer took to art at a very young age. With a BFA in Illustration from Brigham Young University in 1988 (he later returned there to complete his MFA), he has worked as a freelance illustrator and graphic designer for a various top-drawer clients in publishing, editorial, and advertising. But Douglas has also made his mark as a fine painter. He taught Fine Art and Illustration at several universities and art schools, including BYU, The University of Hartford, Connecticut, and at New York City’s Fashion Institute of Technology.
The very personally expressed paintings in this particular show, each a masterpiece in its own right, are the result of a retrospective tour to the Eastern United States.
