Troy Collins
Crimson Grove, 15 x 40, Oil on Canvas
Troy is a native of Montana, but called Idaho home for twelve years during an intensive painting apprenticeship in the studio of master impressionist Robert Moore. Troy has a background in landscape architecture, which provided him with critical principles of design. However, he credits Robert with inspiring his love of Russian Impressionism while nurturing a respect for the elements which create quality in an interpretation of subject matter. The truths and principles he has learned from Robert have built a strong foundation for both his art and his life. Troy has spent many hours studying and painting with Robert on location and in the studio, and it is this wealth of knowledge and experience that forms his landscape oil paintings today. Troy recently returned home to the “Big Sky” in Bozeman, Montana and continues to create canvasses with energy and insight from his studio at the base of the Bridger mountains. “My goal as an artist is to move the viewer to experience a flood of powerful emotions, to feel the energy that flows through me as I put brush to canvas.”
Mastering the truest form of impressionistic art by pouring his heart onto canvas, Troy Collin’s vision and faith have danced with color and technique, changing the spiritual temperature of galleries and homes nationwide.
Nurturing creativity, skill, and design in direct balance with virtues and principles as a protégé for four years under master impressionist, Robert Moore, Troy gleaned a passion for creating a visual experience that captures and moves each viewer to connect with the colors, texture, and design elements in an intimate way, by evoking a tug at people’s heartstrings.
