Ron Richmond “The Power of Symbolism”

THE MARSHALL LeKAE Gallery is pleased to showcase works by one of the most acclaimed contemporary artists to emerge from BYU’s renowned school of art, Ron Richmond.
Mr. Richmond’s work will feature in a group reception with two other exciting artists. This stimulating night of artists’ shows will be from 6 to 9 pm during ArtWalk, Thursday, February 16th at the Marshall-LeKAE Gallery in the heart of Scottsdale’s “happening” arts district.
Like the early masters, Ron Richmond adeptly exploits geometric relationships within his images. To walk past a Richmond painting casually is practically impossible, for the work is completely captivating – a powerful emotion grasps the eye that is at once disquieting, yet curiously serene.
Some of Richmond’s most compelling images are also his simplest. “I leave my subjects in a somewhat ambiguous state, which creates a sense that the viewer may not entirely understand what the picture communicates,” he says in his modest manner.
Ron’s work is not idly contrived – allowing some underlying geometric structures that hold up his Utopia to survive is an intelligent artifice. Not the least of the attributes of Ron Richmond’s remarkable paintings is the intense but veiled spirituality that pervades them.
Please also be sure not to miss this rare opportunity to hear Peter Trippi from Fine Art Connoisseur magazine speak, to mingle with these fine artists and view their incredible artwork– all exciting events taking place on the same night!
